Ravenscourt(Hornchurch)

Ravenscourt specialises in nursing care of the elderly. It is a purpose built care home occupying 70 beds all with an en-suite facility. The Home is situated in Hornchurch, on a corner plot between Station Lane and Ravenscourt Grove. It is within 5 minutes walking distance of the Town Centre and Hornchurch Underground Station (District Line) thus well served by public transport towards local shops, Pubs and Restaurants.

The ground floor specialises in the care of elderly frail residents with nursing needs. The first floor specialises in the care of elderly residents who have dementia, with nursing needs.

We welcome and encourage prospective residents and their families to visit the Home before making any decisions about their care.

Care in the Home is provided by Registered Nurses (24 Hours) and Care Assistants, many of whom have achieved NVQ 2 in Care.

Our meals are cooked on the premises by our resident Chef and our menus offer a variety of appetising meals. We are able to cater for special diets for medical, religious or cultural reasons.

We provide tastefully decorated single bedrooms with en suite facilities. There is a nurse call system installed in each room. You are most welcome to bring in personal items (pictures, photographs etc.) and smaller pieces of furniture to make the room your own. We have specially designed bathrooms and showers to enable even the most dependant person safe and comfortable bathing.

We have a choice of lounge areas where you can read, listen to music, watch TV or simply sit and chat. We offer a programme of activities throughout the week and entertainment is organised throughout the year. The garden areas are fully accessible to wheelchair users.

We actively encourage your comments on your care provision.

Visitors are encouraged and welcomed at any time throughout the day. Family and friends are invited to join us for special occasions like Birthdays and Christmas and to accompany us on outings. Other regular visitors to the Home include your General Practitioner, Social Worker, Dentist, Optician, Chiropodist, Hairdresser and Clergy. We are also visited by Specialist Nurses, Dietician, Speech and Language Therapist, Wheelchair Service and Consultants as required. Residents are encouraged to make their rooms feel like home.

Our Manager is committed to partnership working and offers a transparent approach to the management of her centre. He has an open door policy and actively welcomes any comments, ideas and suggestions that may assist in running of the centre.
